Organization makes teaching much easier. The following two documents are the lesson plan outline to Units IV and V for my physics classroom and the lesson plan for the Unit V paradigm lab, respectively. Both units focus on forces and Newton's Laws. Together, they cover a little more than 5 weeks of material. These are two of the most important units in the curriculum. In the unit plan I have included approximate time needed for different types of lessons or assessments. Furthermore, I have factored in in-class work time for students to complete a project I have designed to help students visualize forces better. For more information on the project please see, 3D Force Project.

The following is a revision of another paradigm lab I taught. The sections in yellow are additions or changes in wording I made to my lesson plan. This lesson was written up using the technique of "planning backwards" from Wiggins and McTighe in Understanding by Design.

Here are a few more notes to other lessons I have written up.

It is always important to make sure that lessons comply with state code. Find out how the modeling curriculum at Ridley High School aligns with the Pennsylvania Board of Education Standards.
