11/3/05 HEADLINES: High Flyers rally past Sharingans, 5-4. Infrored crushes Old Man Grundle Eater's momentum 8-3. RECAP Some stuff: The standing will now be computed by virtue of points. Win is 3 points, tie is 2 points, and a loss is a point. This is being implemented to encourage all teams to play as many games as possible. It also prevents teams from intentionally not playing certain games. It is a shame it will make it more like soccer than baseball, but I feel like 4-4 team (16 pts) is more valuable to the league than a 5-0 team (15 pts). So, standing will be determined by (those are the tiebreakers) 1. Points 2. Win % 3. Head-to-head 4. Quality of wins (sum of points the teams they beat have) 5. Run differential Questions, concerns? The league will award the following at the end of the season, it will be determined by players' votes. -MVP: one player from each division -Cy Young: One pitcher from each division -Silver Slugger: two players from each division -Gold Glove: two players from each division |
