The Andrew D. Dorsey Memorial Fund

On August 13, 2001, Andy Dorsey passed away because of a brain aneurysm. A close friend to many, he will be sorely missed. In memory of Andy, we wanted to establish a scholarship in his name for a student who possessed many of the same academic talents and interests as Andy, namely, a high-honor roll student who also showed an interest in studying Chemistry/German or Chemistry.

Criteria:
The scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student pursuing studies in Chemistry/German or Chemistry. Students planning to pursue studies in Chemistry/German or Chemistry from James Madison Memorial High School in Madison, WI will be given preference.

The money awarded to the winning student will be applied towards the winning student's tuition at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Andy was truly a well-respected, well-rounded young man. It is highly unfortunate that we have lost such a friend; one who was dependable, generous, studious, and thoughtful, as well as intelligent, athletic, and creative. In remembrance, it would be nice to share your thoughts on how you knew Andy. You may send them (with your name or anonymously) by clicking on the following email link. The remembrance page is located here.
