Micromouse Competition
The Micromouse competition involves fully autonomous robots that are designed in such a manner as to be able to make its way from a predetermined position to the center of a maze made of small walls. As a further test, mice are often comissioned to find the shortest route from the edge to the center.
USB LED lamp workshop
During the fall of 2008, the IEEE board initiated a series of two workshops for engineers and the general public, giving them the material and instructions necessary for creating their own USB LED lamps based on the idea from instructables. It was a grand success and over 22 students participated and took home their own lamps.
Appliance Day
Sometime during the spring semester, the chapter coordinates, in conjunction with the entire Engineering Department at Swarthmore, an Appliance Day where students and faculty are invited to bring forth broken appliances in need of repair. Students then do their best to repair the devices, often with positive results.
