WARNING: These pages are written for Netscape 1.1. I don't know how many of these techniques will even work with other browsers.
This is another technique that I first saw on the pages at The Underground. To tell you the truth, this doesn't even
really merit it's own page, other than for the demonstration. Reload it as many times as you like to see it over, and over, and over until you're
bored. All there is to a title bar animation is repetitive use of the <TITLE> command. They go extremely fast unless you put something in between
them to slow down the title redraws- I've used background color redraws like on the flashing colors page. Here's a short
example:
<TITLE>.*</TITLE>
<body.bgcolor="AAAAAA">
<TITLE>..*</TITLE>
<body.bgcolor="AAAAAA">
<TITLE>...*</TITLE>
<body.bgcolor="AAAAAA">
<TITLE>....*</TITLE>
<body.bgcolor="AAAAAA">
<TITLE>.....*</TITLE>
<body.bgcolor="AAAAAA">
<TITLE>......*</TITLE>
etcetera.......
You can put the <TITLE> command anywhere in the document, even well into the body of the text. So if you have a long document, you can put the
lines of your title bar animation in between the lines of your text, eliminating the need for the endless background redraw that I've used. You may
have noticed that after the text finished drawing, the title bar changed again, from "SERIOUS TITLE BAR ACTION!!!" to "TITLE BAR ANIMATIONS". If you
missed it, hit reload and watch it again.
Since each one goes by so quickly, they're also a great place for subliminal advertising. =)
