This list is not actually based on anything. This came from me walking around the store at Blockbuster one summer when there was no business, writing down movies I liked as I saw them. So you have to keep in mind several things: 1) this list is not finished 2) this list is based on my taste 3) this list is only current up through about 2001 and won't be updated until I have occasion to wander around a Blockbuster store for several hours.
Also, there are some obvious omissions. I tried to leave out movies that won best picture at the Academy Awards (seemed a little obvious to add them to the list), but a few sneaked on anyway cause I either liked them too much to leave off or something related. Disney movies are generally left off the list.
As with movies I own, these are in no particular order (yet--one day there will be a "Claire's top 100 movies list"), but are broken down by rough category. Suggestions will be accepted, but will not make it on to the list until I see the movie and think it should. Enjoy.
