General Manager, WSRN FM
Swarthmore College, Swarthmore, PA.
Headed the campus radio station. Was responsible for coordinating a
managerial board of 20 people, and a station staff of over 70 people.
Created agendas and ran weekly board meeting. Sat on committee on
obscenity and standards in broadcasting. Had direct supervision of
paid technical staff. Engaged in restructuring of the scheduling process.
Monitored security of two state of the art broadcasting studios. Ensured
compliance with the FCC and broadcasting regulations. In the process of
implementing a program designed to groom show producers with exceptional
technical knowledge. [May 1997-present]
Intern, 2030 Center
Washington, DC.
Assembled original research and statistical analysis for the 2030 Center, an
action tank, giving voice to the political opinions of Americans in their 20's
and 30's. Was one of only two staff members. Produced and prepared Agenda 2000,
the group's platform report, for publishing. Desinged the organizations
relational databases for fundraising and membership using Microsoft Access.

Resident Assistant (RA), Mary Lyons Dormitory,
Swarthmore College, Swarthmore, PA.
Responsible for creating a friendly, safe and open and safe atmosphere in a
residence hall of 40 students, 10 of which were new to the Swarthmore
community. Acted as a liaison between the student residents and the
college administration, including the Dean's Office, Public Security,
Maintenance, and the Office of Residential Life. Mediated conflicts
between student residents. Organized residential life events, such as
study breaks, holiday celebrations, and community meetings. [August

Economics Department,

Graded bi-weekly problem
sets for macroeconomics, one of the two core economics classes at
Swarthmore. Also co-ran a clinic designed to help college sophomores
with the material and their homework, and served as a one-on-one tutor
to struggling students. [January 1997-present]
Intern, International Academy,
Bloomfield Hills, MI.
Prepared for the opening of a new, multi-district, public school of
choice. Designed curriculum projects created to give students
experience in the community outside of the school, while fostering
good relations between schools and surrounding community institutions.
Projects designed include: Community Internet Outreach, and a student
run historical archive. Also designed and prepared a database which
integrates teacher, business mentor and self assessment to make
student evaluation a more meaningful representation of the student*s

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE
Computer Consultant, Dorm Technician and Dispatcher,
Computing Center,
Swarthmore College, Swarthmore, PA,
Held three positions, all self supervised. Was responsible for managing
Beardsley Computer Labratory, a facility with over 30 Macintosh terminals,
and responding to the questions of the 8-40 users that it houses. With one
other technician, advised a dormotory of over 80 people on Macintosh computer
problems, software usage, and networking. Also was responsible for the
distribution of printouts for the entire campus as a dispatcher.

Condor and Kestrel Unix Systems,
Swarthmore College, Swarthmore, PA,
Maintained, monitored and updated two campus-wide Unix systems which provide
shell accounts, internet acess and a World Wide Web server to over 700 users.
Responsibilities include: the installation and updating of new software,
monitoring the system load, ensuring and monitoring security, addressing
technical problems that arise on the system, and maintaining a secure
friendly environment for users. Also implemented a new wave of user support
efforts including tutorial sessions and user education sessions including
Command of the Week.

ORGANIZING EXPERIENCE
Co-Chairperson, Community Problem Solving Educational Task Force,
Bloomfield Hills, MI.
In charge of a core group of 30 students to lobby State Government on
behalf of students during Michigans educational reform crisis. Organized
statewide symposium on educational reform with twenty schools from
all funding and environmental backgrounds. Also managed press releases
and reporters, and worked on an interdisciplinary educational system
for the high schools in the Bloomfield Hills school district.

Founder, Co-Chairperson, and Presenter,
Multicultural Arts Troupe, Bloomfield Hills, MI.
Researched and developed a fun and interesting way to bring high
school role models and an understanding of the importance of
culture to elementary school children. Was responsible for 23
presenters with different ethnic backgrounds. Coordinated dates
with elementary school education officials and shared my Irish
Heritage with first to fifth graders in a range of elementary
school districts.
