The Printer's Jammed!!!

No Problem

Normal Procedure (repeat 3X if necessarry)
  • Turn the Printer Off

  • Open the Printer up and remove any excess paper

  • Close the Printer and Turn it on

  • Put the Coversheet in the overhead folder

  • Watch the printout emerge, freed by your superior dispatching skill
This should solve most problems

If that doesn't work...
  • Turn off Printer

  • Pull out Paper Supply and make sure it isn't too full (>90%)

  • Also make sure the paper is neatly placed into tray; i.e. not over the metal tab on the left side of the tray.

  • Talk nicely to the printer

  • Turn the printer back on and you're all set
This step is for paper tray problems

Second to Last resort
  • Go to the Spooler Mac

  • Go to File -> Setup...

  • Release the Printer

  • Once it reappears, recapture it.
These steps takes care of any problems the printer might be having with the document itself; sometimes documents will cause jams - either by being too big, or just plain being funky.
Last resort
  • Go to the Spooler

  • delete the top document from the jamming printer's queue

  • Go to File -> Setup...

  • Release the Printer

  • Once it reappears, recapture it.
