| In a matchup of two teams with a similar name, Rodd outdueled Sidhu to help SHEN beat SHAR in 4 innings. Again, Shenanigans struck first, scoring 4 off GP led by Rodd's 2-run double. But Sharingans, who had been shut out in two previous games, came alive against Wallwork. GP hit his first career-homer, and Sidhu, batting .257 coming into the game, had 4 hits including a triple. By the inning's end, Sharingans led 6-4. Sidhu then came in on top 2 to preserve the lead, but Shenanigans fought. After two walks and two K's, Rodd and Wallwork both drew a walk, closing the gap to 6-5. Then Rodd hit a clutch single to tie the game at 6. Looking to regain the lead, Sharingans drew 3 walks to load the bases against Rodd on bottom 2. Rodd then elevated his game, coming through with an El-Duque-type performance (i.e. 3 straight K's) to escape the jam. Sidhu and Rodd gritted through the 3rd inning, sending the game into overtime. Shenanigans created an opportunity after Sidhu struck out Wallwork, loading the bases led by Rodd's double. Sidhu struck out Wallwork again to get his second out, but then Rodd drew a walk to break the tie (his 5th RBI). Rodd then pitched the bottom 4 for his 5th inning of the evening, and finished off with a 1-2-3 inning. |
