Old Man Grundle Eater 7 - 7 Sharingans |
| After 6 innings of play, still no winner. OMGE and Sharingans were in adeadlock at 7 when they had to stop due to darkness. The play will be resumed as soon as it is scheduled. 6 innings of play, that is worth 18 innings in MLB. The Astros and Braves played 18 games in NL divisional series, with Chris Burke's HR winning it. Unfortunately for those two teams, they had Clemens's, but no Burke. The game appeared to be headed for a blowout when GP, clearly nervous, became the first pitcher to be mercied this season. He gave up 2 hits and walked 7, 4 of them from full count. Chen, on the contrary, shut doen the Sharingans on bottom 1st. The tide turned in the second inning, when Sidhu shut out OMGE and then GP exploded against Crall on the bottom half, getting 5 hits in 6 at-bats, helping them mercy Crall. With the game tied at 7, Sidhu and Chen got in a grueling battle of pitching, like Garcia and Backe last night. They both threw for a perfect inning on 3rd. Sidhu got in a slight trouble with two-man on with 1 out, but struck out both Crall and Chen to escape the jam. After Chen got three straight K's on bottom 4th, they broke the record for the longest game ever. OMGE also had two men on on bottom 6th with two two-out walks, but Sidhu, with his last remaining fire, struck out Chen to preserve the tie. On bottom 6th, Chen, who had seemed invincible (only 1 runner since 3rd), suddenly looked vulnerable. GP, determined to make up for his pitching blunder, blasted a double with one out. However, Sidhu was too exhausted to advance the runner, stiking out in 3 pitches. GP stayed hot and hit the first pitch for a single. With men on corners with two outs, it fittingly came down to Chen vs. Sidhu. Chen prevailed, striking out Sidhu again. Sidhu and Chen both were very impressive, Sidhu allowed no hits, struck out 15 and walked 5 in 5 innings. Chen made sure he did not get the win by allowing 3 hits, getting 11 K's with 2 walks in 5 innings. GP finished the night with 8/15 batting. |
