MAIN SCHEDULE STANDINGS STATS TEAMS NEWS

Colton & Duncan 2-0 Evan & Scott

Playing in their first game in a long time, Colton & Duncan looked a bit rusty, but used their dominant pitching to no-hit past the expansion team Evan & Scott. This game also would be the lamest game of the entire season in terms of team names. They are the only teams who have not submitted a team name.

The players certainly are not nameless for Colton & Duncan, as Gromko and Bangs combined for a no-hitter. They only scored 2 runs, but that was more than enough. Buxbaum, in his first career start, began the game by striking out Bangs. But the veterans were calm, as two full-count walks and a single loaded the bases. Buxbaum struck Bangs out again to make it two outs, but Gromko delivered a single to score a run. Bangs then hit a fly-ball to leave three men stranded. On top 2nd, they added another run with Bangs' two-out, bases-loaded single. Young minimized the damage again, striking out Gromko, leaving three men.

Bangs, playing with a hip-pointer injury, made sure that those two runs were enough. He struck out three in a row on bottom second, showing no rust. Though Evan & Scott had a chance on bottom 3rd when they put two on walks with one out, Bangs managed to preserve the victory with two more K's.

For Colton & Duncan, they got two two-out singles to score just enough runs, and their pitching shut down Evan & Scott. For Evan & Scott, on the flip side, their pitching performance must have been pleasing. Once they adjust to the speed of the big league and starts hitting, they could be in the mix deep into the season.
