WIFFLE HALL IN PARRISH ~Delivering excitement to your hall since 2005~ |
Wiffle Hall was founded in Willets in winter 2004 by Jon Lo and Andy LeClair. The original strike zone was a red tape on a door at the end of the hall, but now we use a cardboard attached to a bed board. There are 2 players on each team, and there is no fielder. The outcome of a hit-ball in play is determined by the pitcher's fiedling and the distance the ball travels. Due to the nature of a wiffle ball, pitches make some unexpected movements. Also due to its light weight and high air resistance, it is very safe for a play in the hall (when there is a window behind the strike zone, we use a carpet piece to ensure safety). It has given the students a chance to emulate MLB stars, and games regularly draw some crowd.
