Ivan Boothe

I was a co-founder of the Genocide Intervention Network (now United to End Genocide), and sit on the board of the Peace and Justice Studies Association. I have led community organizing workshops at the U.S. Social Forum, the New Organizing Institute and the Gandhi-King Conference, and I was a community organizer with Casino-Free Philadelphia. I graduated from Swarthmore in 2005 with a degree in peace and conflict studies, and authored a thesis on third-party nonviolent intervention.

Back in 2003, I was part of a collective known as Why War? that launched nationwide electronic civil disobedience against voting machine manufacturer Diebold.

In addition to my technical work, I am a semi-professional handbell musician. You can follow me on Twitter or browse my presentations on Slideshare. Say hello!
