So perhaps it is just slightly peculiar that a college-aged asian girl enjoys listening to country music. It is odd yes, but oh so true. Over the years country music has just kindof grown on me. The first time it it really hit me that I actually liked country music was when I was on a road trip with one of my best friends. We were traveling along the northern new england coast with her family and it just happened that the only radio stations that we could get in the area were country stations. It was then that I first heard Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire and Charlie Daniel's Band's Devil Went Down to Georgia, and immediately loved both songs. From that moment on, I became hooked...

My first country albums were Shania Twain, Leann Rhimes, Patsy Cline's Greatest Hits, and Johnny Cash's Greatest hits. Once I bought the Garth Brooks box set I knew there was no turning back. Then I came to college, and as luck would have it my roommate Lynn was a big country fan also. She introduced me to some of mainstream artists like Trisha, Tim Mcgraw, and Faith Hill.

I've always had a dreams of going to Nashville with a guitar strapped across my back in search of stardom. The movies "A Thing Called Love" and "Mystery Train" are some great movies about visiting Nashville and a "Thing Called Love" is a true inspiration to those with country singing dreams. Lynn and I are planning on travelling to Tennessee sometime in the future and become famous country singers or at least be major tourists and vist the Grand Ole Opry.
