Experience

Robot Designer

Cooperatively planned and designed an autonomous robot waiter (Alfred) that won first place at the 1999 American Association for Artificial Intelligence (AAAI) Conference competition in Florida. Developed the speech recognition system of the robot, using IBM’s ViaVoice Software Developer’s Kit. Designed and built supplementary hardware devices for use in the robot. Also responsible for maintenance of the robot’s onboard Linux operating system.

Information Technology Administrator

Played an active role in establishment of AdMedia's (a reputable advertising agency in Ghana) computer resources, by recommending purchase of various computer hardware and software for graphics and media departments.

Installed various software packages including word-processing and desktop publishing application suites, on both Macintosh and IBM compatible computer systems. Trained employees in use of installed computer systems. Set up a simple, but cost-effective dial-up network to allow for resource sharing.

Math Forum Administrator

Read and correct problems in mathematics for Middle School students through email, and seek to expand their mathematical awareness by means of encouraging explanations. Maintain data integrity by monitoring school and student submitter databases to add new data and remove duplicate information. Assisted in the design of a math-based web site using the Extensible Markup Language (XML).
