Levski was one of the most famous and enthusiastic revolutionaries in Bulgaria in the second half of last century when the country was still under the influence of the Ottoman Empire. He dedicated his life to organizing the Bulgarians to rebel against the Ottoman Empire which turned him into a legend. On February 19, 1873 he was hung in Sofia not getting to see the Liberation he hoped for so much.
