Wellness and Preventive Medicine We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm, flea and tick control; a vaccination program; spay and neuter packages; and specialized blood tests for all life stages. It is important for us to see your pet at least once a year to do a physical exam and make sure he or she is in optimal health. Since there are different diseases and problems that can arise in different phases of life it is important for us to continue to see your pet yearly to observe any changes that may have occurred in your pet over the year. This will help us identify and treat any diseases early. During a routine health exam a veterinarian checks all the body systems of a patient. These include the eyes, ears, mouth, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, respiratory, urogenital, nervous and musculoskeletal systems. We have ophthalmoscopes to do thorough eye exams and otoscopes for ear exams. Our vets check for any abnormalities and do further diagnostics if any are found.
