Laboratory Diagnostics
We provide on-site laboratory work. We have a complete blood count machine and blood analyzers to check for kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes and sodium/potassium levels. In addition, we have test kits to quickly diagnose viral and bacterial infections. Laboratory work sent out of the clinic including fecal examination, blood work, biopsy, and cytology reports are examined thoroughly and results are sent back within 24-48hours. We microscopically examine skin and tissue samples to look for parasites and abnormal cells.
We perform endoscopies for direct visual examination of your pet’s gastrointestinal and respiratory systems. High-tech fiber optics can allow for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Sometimes foreign objects can be removed from the stomach without the need for surgery.
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a non-invasive diagnostic tool that can image structures within the body. Ultrasound of the abdomen is ideal for examining the liver, gallbladder, spleen, kidneys, adrenal glands and urinary bladder.
Radiology (X-Rays)
Our on-site x-ray machine provides clear images to aid in quick diagnosis of many disorders. X-rays are not only taken of joints and bones, but also of the chest, abdomen and head. They are an important part of diagnostic work-up for many of our patients experiencing pain or illness.
