Here's a chronological breakdown of my time in South America:



July 1:

depart from LAX Bradley Terminal on Korean Air say good bye to family, friends and America

July 2:

arrive in Sao Paulo, Brasil settle into Bosque Holiness Church, acculturation, meeting Brasilians and training & prep

July 4:

arrive at IEFA for English and Sports Camp team building and training with Brasilian staff

July 6:

campers arrive at IEFA cabin lead, teach English, run sports clinics, help lead worship and make new friends

July 11:

end of English and Sports Camp take pictures, get addresses, clean up and return to Bosque Holiness Church

July 12:

Sunday service at Bosque Holiness and World Cup Final participate in Portuguese-Japanese-English service with worship and testimonies, church luncheon, watch the big game at the Takada's

July 13:

begin planning with new team for next ministry meet our Brasilian teammate, practice songs in Japanese and Portuguese

July 14:

depart for Paraguay from Sao Paulo's Tiete Terminal ride the Cometa del Amambay in my longest bus ride ever

July 15:

arrive in Pedro Juan Caballero, Amambay in Paraguay meet the Yoshizaki family and settle in

July 16:

first day of ministry to Amambay Japanese Free Methodist Church sing and pray for members of the congregation during visitations, seinenkai (youth meeting): ice breakers, worship, testimonies, lesson, small groups and prayer

July 19:

Sunday school, J-school skit night and Evening service crafts, worship, skit and lesson for the kids, watch skits at the Japanese Cultural Center, share at service

July 20:

excursion to Cerra Cora National Park hike through the ecological preserve and look at cave art at an archaelogical site

July 21:

special craft night at the Yoshizaki's the lanyard madness begins...

July 24:

EBF (vacation Bible school) begins sing and dance for worship, do crafts, lessons, skits, games and memory verses, lead prayer, and have lots of fun

July 26:

last day of EBF and Sunday evening service alter call (prayed with kids to receive Christ for the first time in my life!), share a song, testimony and message at service

July 28:

depart from Pedro Juan Caballero pack up and say good bye to friends, sleep on the Cometa del Amambay

July 29:

return to Bosque Holiness Church begin working with a new ministry team teach English and interact with kids

August 2:

Sunday school and service at Bosque and debriefing share blessings and start letting go of South America

August 4:

return to Los Angeles enjoy home, and miss Brasil and Paraguay
