Swarthmore College Folksingers

There are several groups people at Swarthmore that get together to sing folksongs. Most are pretty informal, just people getting together in someone's room to sing. A few times a semester there will be a well publicised gathering, usually in Parrish Parlors.

In 2007, SBC purchased eight copies of Rise Up Singing for group gatherings. Technically, they belong to the folkdance club, and over the summers they live in the folkdance club lockers in LPAC. Email the Folkdance folks (Katherine Bertaut or Ames Bielenberg as of 2011) to get them.

There is a Folksing mailinglist, folksing .at. sccs .dot. swarthmore .edu. , which you can subscribe to at this sccs page. It is very low traffic, about three messages per semester, generally whenever someone decides there should be a sing. Anyone subscribed to the list can send mail to it, and anyone is welcome to schedule or announce a sing.
