Concentric Circles
We got to know each other by doing an activity in which we stood in two concentric circles facing a partner. Then we had one minute to talk about ourselves as prompted by questions. We switched partners for every question and got to hear lots of different people's stories.Identity Flowers
We gave each camper a colorful flower cut-out which was segmented and labeled "gender" "race" "ethnic background" "geographic origin" "personal and family influence" "other characteristics" and "religious background." Each girl decorated her flower and filled out the information for herself. Then the girls compiled all of the information in groups to notice the diversity around them.
