The All Time Buzzards Record Book

This page contains seasonal statistical highlights. It is mostly empty because the author's memory does not extend very far. The success of this part of the page is dependent on those alumni who do remember season's past giving Chris an email message at "cdileo1@cc.swarthmore.edu".

Fall 1992

The Buzzards went 5-1, losing only to West Chester. They crushed Delaware 55-0 in the final game but need 65 points in order to make the playoffs. Instead, East Strousburg went to the playoffs, a team that Swat had beaten during the regular season.

Spring 1993

The Buzzards record: undefeated in 5 or 6 games
Season Highlights: The buzzards were unstoppable with defeats of Kutztown and Princeton and finished with a #1 ranking in the EPRU. This season marked the end of an era in Swarthmore rugby that featured a dedicated and talented class of 1993 that still returns to torment the current Buzzards at alumni games.

Other Highlights: The Buzzards outscored their opponents 110-47. Third Place was taken at the Temple Tournament

Spring 1997

The Buzzard's Record: 3-6-1
Try Leader: Scoring Leader: Other Highlights: Riddled by injuries, the Buzzards hung tough and played with a lot of heart in the spring. Although the record does not reflect it, the effort put out and the closeness of all matches made the season worthwhile. Hope for the future of the EBRC has been provided by the talented, devoted and buzzardly freshman class of 1999 as we say goodbye to one of our largest senior classes.
