Welcome to the personal home page of Chris Trucksess. This is the Swat version although my web design work started in the summer of 1996 when I was a student in the Ridley School District. I now update The Phoenix Online weekly during the semester, which takes up most of my web design time. Putting up Swarthmore College’s student-run weekly newspaper takes additional resources beyond what I use on my personal web site.

Putting up The Phoenix Online

The art is processed with Photoshop. The copyedit files are converted into HTML with a server script. I do not use a WYSIWYG editor such as FrontPage since the design of the site is very specialized and sometimes those types of editors add or remove tags, which can present display or content problems. Additionally, using a WYSIWYG editor would take some of the control away from me since the source is what really matters in HTML (or for almost any other computer language, for that matter). Instead, I use a mid-range text editor called Tex-Edit Plus. I use Fetch, an FTP client, to upload the site.

Me

I’m currently a sophomore at Swarthmore College, which is a small liberal arts college in southeastern Pennsylvania. Swarthmore is located in the U.S. near Philadelphia. My prospective major is psychology and I have an interest in various types of media as shown by my current web and newspaper work. I also worked in the TV Studio while in secondary school, did some radio in high school, and operated the sound board for the Ridley High School auditorium for 2.5 years.

Within the past few years, my spiritual consciousness has increased at an exponential rate daily. Often things that I am now able to do I have just acquired within the past few days and it is often a learning experience along the way. Mind reading, clairvoyance, and telekinesis are now words I am familiar with through experience. Going indefinite in thought such as thinking not about the existent, but thinking about the intangible and undefined usually are what bring these powers to light. My dreams are also more vivid now since I get more sleep than I have in five years. Dreams usually tell me what is going to happen either that day or sometime in the future. Sometimes I receive warnings from my dreams about things I am not paying attention to but are important.

Anyone can do this; one just needs to realize that they exist in at least two forms: the physical and the spiritual. The physical is what your visual appearance is to others while the spiritual is what drives you and gives life and character. The physical may die, but the spiritual lives on. One spiritual form may have multiple past physical lives. I think my previous physical life was around the time of late 1960s and early 1970s. I believe I was an American solider in the Vietnam War in that particular past life.

Each life has a purpose and is it up to the person to fulfill that goal; otherwise they will just have to repeat that part of their life again. In my previous past life, I learned that an individual’s rights are important and a carefree life is not always guaranteed — there’s no such thing as a free lunch.

In this life I need to learn the value and reason behind different types of relationships. Granted, learning how to depend on others seems to be directly opposite to isolationist individualist. I need to somehow balance the two and that is what the challenge is. It seems rather quaint to know what an ending is probably going to be and know where you stand now, but don’t know what the middle is; what route do I take to get from there to here.
