Subject: Fwd: Private parties/events

Dear RAs,

As a reminder, if you know your hall mates are planning to throw  a private party (parties that are not SAC funded but obviously bigger than your dorm room party and for which there is a charge), please remind them  that they are not allowed to advertise them via flyers and posters.   Rather, guests are to be invited to private parties through addressed invitations (For more information, see the 1998-1999 Student Handbook, pg. 42).   Any violation of this policy can result in a monetary fine.

Of course, your hall mate is sponsoring an all-campus event that is SAC funded, advertising is permitted and strongly encouraged!! However, advertising may not refer to the availability of alcoholic beverages, either graphically or in words.
