I have the same feeling I get everytime I start writing in a new journal - a kind of fear of committment.
This is much harder though - this must be how it feels to learn how to read. I want to figure out how to make this good before I start plastering things on the page.

This is from Toni Morrison's Beloved - it makes me think of my friends who are perpetually helping me to put my mind back together.
She is a friend of my mind. She gather me, man. The pieces I am, she gather them and give them back to me in all the right order. It's good, you know, when you got a woman who is a friend of your mind.
I like that.
