The Politics of Love and Imagination.

I LOVE the EARTH Too long have we been accostumed to think of us humans solely in terms of our capability to transform nature around us in order to satisfy our needs. This conception comes from the Judeo-christian God. God (who the hell was he to do that anyhow?) supposedly told Adam and Eve to submit the Earth. So we procedeed to rid ourselves of the child within us, to think of nature as an enemy and an obstacle rather than as a friend. I believe that, beyond our ability to transform nature to satisfy our earthly needs, we also defined by our ability to love each other and imagine. The point is to imagine love and to make it, not only as an act but as the accomplishment of our part of Divinity.

The Politics of Love and Imagination are highly subversive of the existing order of things. Why? Because, as Freud said, " happiness is not a cultural value". Actually, one might argue that, ever since the end of World War II and the development of mass consumerism throughout the industrialized world, happiness has become a cultural value. But what kind of happiness is it? Are we happy when we watch TV? Are we happy when we eat left-over refrigerated pasta? Are we happy when we fornicate while we think of office work? I don't think so. Why is love subversive? Because it puts itself above every societal rule. Why is imagination subversive? Because it hopes for a better world. Karl Marx once wrote: "The Philosophers have interpreted the world. The point, however is to chamge it." I will write. The Philosophers have interpreted the world. The point, however, is to CREATE it.

Ffreedom is to live without angst.
