Autobiographical Incidents:
Students were to write about an incident that affected them greatly. They were to incorporate descriptive language and to explain why they chose that particular event.
Persuasive Essays:
Students were to write persuasive essays on topics of their choice. They were to follow the five-paragraph essay formula and were writing to persuade their classmates and myself.
This student wrote about the cell phone ban in public schools.
This student wrote to persuade her peers not to “mess up” their lives.
This student wrote building more skate parks in Philadelphia.
