Coordinated academic- and public-oriented events, including inaugural Forum on the Humanities and the Public World series: worked with guest speakers to arrrange travel logistics; reserved venues and equipment; oversaw organized and smooth execution of events. Created and maintained databases of contact information, books/multimedia, and competition materials (FileMaker Pro). Developed and implemented publicity and outreach campaigns: wrote copy and designed postcards, posters, flyers; worked with printers and negotiated prices; oversaw mailings and postings; contacted local media affiliates; created event-specific press materials. Intern, Intercultural Center (IC) & Swarthmore Queer Union (SQU)
Served on SQU board and planned/facilitated weekly meetings (two years). Hired as SQU intern by the IC director (one year). Organized campus-wide educational events, including Sager Symposium (co-coordinator) and Coming Out Week (raised funds, booked speakers, arranged travel, designed publicity, etc.). Co-facilitated "Small Group" support meetings (one semester). Developed and facilitated queer-specific "Acquaintance Sexual Assault Prevention" workshop for first-year students during orientation (one year). Took minutes at meetings and managed email listserves. Co-organized annual recognition dinner, and designed awards. Wrote $10,000 Cooper Foundation grant to bring prominent playwright to campus. Recently wrote $30,000 Cooper Foundation grant to support community performance featuring Margaret Cho (in conjunction with Mountain Meadow). Performed administrative tasks for IC director/staff, including event-planning and grant-writing. Served as liaison between students and administrators.

Founded and coordinated after-school arts-based program for LGBTQ/ally youth. Wrote $10,000 LOS grant and follow-up reports. Organized educational and community events. Created/maintained records of participant contact/demographic information and expenses (Excel). Wrote press-releases. Wrote/designed outreach literature, including website, brochures, flyers, and email updates. Compiled monthly mailings to youth and educators, including printing labels (database mail merge). Albany, NY :: Spring & Summer 2005
Transformed collection of 2000+ books into Wayne Wright Resource Library; created searchable catalogue (Excel), designed labels and bookplates. Greeted youth visitors, offered tours of center, directed youth to print and on-site resources. Prepared demographic data for state and other funding reports. Assisted staff with daily office and housekeeping tasks, including implementation of merge with sister organization. Provided back-up support for GED program: purchased lunches, photocopied materials, etc. Co-facilitated workshop on combating homophobia and racism for middle-school students. Researched and contacted schools and community centers to build organizational partnerships. Helped to maintain membership and donor databases (FileMaker Pro and Excel) during transition of executive director. Designed publicity materials for family events. Assisted in workshops, special events, and presentation of museum space.

Researched legal policies and documented conditions of NYS farmworkers for use in campaign materials. Created and designed outreach literature. Administrative: Taught a six-week introductory photography class to students and union members and co-organized popular exhibition of work. Edited, designed and published an arts and literary magazine. Wrote, illustrated, and distributed safer sex 'zine/ coloring book. Organized "Cinema Q" film screenings and discussions (with partner organizations). Planned/facilitated workshops, open-mic, drag night, and other events. Program Coordinator (Summer 2006): Coordinated schedules and logistics for daily activities, staff time off, camper electives, and special events for two-week overnight camp for children/youth with LGBTQ parents and families (ages 9-16). Facilitated evening activities for entire camp. Coordinated Junior Staff program, including check-ins and some supervision; supported Staff-in-Training program. Purchased supplies and ran errands. Art Director (Summer 2005): Created and facilitated age-appropriate arts/crafts programming. Ordered supplies and maintained inventory. Supervised one "Junior Staff" member.

Designed layout for National Organization for Women-NYS 8-pg newsletter, distributed to approximately 14,000+ members. Co-coordinated campaign that increased Swarthmore's minimum wage from $9 to $11.26/hour (Autumn 2004), increased benefits, and addressed workers' grievances. Organized events, speakers, rallies, film screenings, concerts, and teach-ins. Developed strategy using Midwest Academy/GROW methodology, and unique direct action tactics. Facilitated meetings with faculty, staff, and administration. Served as representative to United Students Against Sweatshops (USAS) Coordinating Committee (one semester). Researched and designed flyers, educational brochures, media alerts, and other outreach materials. Offered support in solidarity with union campaign (Spring 2006).
