Stereograms - cross your eyes
cross your eyes and try to mesh the two sides of the image on top of each other. the resulting image will feel 3D.
if you can't see it, try to stay away from the screen and use your finger to help you cross your eyes.

3D photos - animated gifs
i came across 'stereo animated 3D illusions' a while ago on tons of sites (thank you, stumbleupon). this article says Luciano Passuello made the discovery. i wasn't able to verify, but thanks anyway.
