In 2003, the United States invaded Iraq under the pretext that Saddam Hussein possessed "weapons of massive destruction". The USA then argued that not only did Iraq have and intend to use WMD but they also were close allies with Al Qaeda. It was the purported connection between Iraq and Al Qaeda that terrified many people and led them to support the invasion of Iraq.
Roughly a year after the occupation of Iraq, I began a research project to investigate whether Iraq had connections to Osama Bin Ladin and in order to do so I utilized US government translations of Al Qaeda documents. I discovered that not only did Al Qaeda dislike Saddam Hussein but that they were hoping the US would invade Iraq!
It was then that I realized there was only one way to truly win the war on terrorism: we must understand our enemy otherwise we will only do their bidding.
In order to share the knowledge I had gained, I have now published a series of documents and speeches made by Al Qaeda members. All of these documents have been translated and released by the US Government.
