We did two extensions for this lab. We ran tests on a third processor as a comparison and we did some testing with L2 cache.

We tested the processor features on three processors - Intel Pentium II, Pentium III, and UltraSparc 2. Click here to see the results of these tests.

The results of our L2 cache testing can be found in our Problems section. We discovered through these tests that using L2 cache can actually speed processes up in some cases. While we lost time transferring data between the levels of cache, the 4-way set associativity of L2 cache sped the process up.
