After 3 unbelievably hard weeks in the spring of 1999, I decided that I had had enough. Really, for the first time in my life, when I should have been doing something else (ie homework), I went into Complete Slacker Mode. My brain could not handle work, so I did none. Like, to be clear, none. Instead, I watched Twin Peaks. It sucked me in, and didn't let me go until I had watched the entire series. In one week. (Well, actually a little on the weekend, too.) That's, oh around, 30 hours of Coop. And what a wonderful week it was... :)

It's hard to explain to people who have never watched Twin Peaks just how exactly it is so intriguing and addictive. It's really to David Lynch's credit that the transition from a show about the murder of the Homecoming Queen in a small town to a show about the battle between the forces of good and evil can happen so successfully.

My favorite quotes from the show:

Bobby:"What the hell's going on here?"
Gordon Cole: "You are witnessing a front three-quaters view of two adults sharing a tender moment. (to Shelly) Acts like he's never seen a kiss before. (to Bobby) Take another look, Sonny, it's gonna happen again!"

Mike: Do you have any idea what the combination of sexual maturity and superhuman strength can result in?"

Jack: "Brother, I am roped, tied, and branded."

Annie:"I don't know you very well."
Coop: "No."
Annie: "I'm trying to learn how to trust my instincts."
Coop: "What are they saying?"
Annie: "Trust."

Coop: "I don't want to talk about trees anymore."

more coming, but in the meantime...
This goes to a French website, and I laughted out loud when I read some of the quotes. I think perhaps "Il y avait un poisson dans le percolateur" is my favorite. :) This other site (also in French) is very good.
