Farscape is one of my favorite TV shows ever, and by far my favorite space show. And this is coming from someone who in her youth regularly watched at least 2 hours of Star Trek a day! Nothing against Star Trek, but I never realized how many "rules" of sci-fi space shows weren't actually rules at all, just how Trek operated. Farscape smashes them all to pieces. There's no technobabble, the aliens are actually ALIEN, the ship is not military, and the characters are not always friends, and frequently not even the heroes.

One of the strokes of genius, is that the protagonist, John Crichton, is from modern-day Earth. He watched Star Trek! He watched Star Wars! So when things/aliens/planets are inevitably reminiscent of other sci-fi shows the audience has seen, Crichton thinks so, too, AND HE SAYS SO! Ha! Awesome.

Another thing Farscape has going for it, beyond that the cast is incredibly hot and talented, is that Claudia Black and Ben Browder happen to be magical when they are together. Amazing chemistry, visible even in the pictures below.

Don't know when I'll get around to organizing this, but in the meantime, here are some pretty, pretty pictures.
