| This page will be about my academics and athletics. These two seem to take up far more time than they ought to take up. As Mark Twain said, "Never let school get in the way of your education." Nevertheless, this is the symbol which seems to dominate my academic carreer for the last 2 years. As much as I might complain, I do enjoy classics, and I think that their influence is sorely missed in schooling today. That is why I plan to become a teacher and do my best to reinstate the principles and the clarity of thought which I believe come with a classical education. |

| In the fall, I play left offensive tackle for the Swarthmore Garnet Tide football team. One of the priniciples taught by a classical education is that of balance. Therefore, I knew that I wanted to play college football, but I also didn't want it to absolutely rule my life. I was recruited to play at Harvard and Yale, but both of these programs are Division Iaa, and it seemed that they were disproportionately involved in football, to the detriment of academics. Therefore, I decided to play for Division III Swarthmore. I think it was one of the better decisions of my life. This is our logo. |

| In the winter, I put the shot for indoor track, and in the spring I catch and pitch for the baseball team, but I like to keep seasons seperate, so I won't talk much about these sports here.
