THE ATHLETICS CUTS A YEAR LATER
On Dec. 2, 2000, the Board of Managers voted to eliminate three varsity sports — wrestling, badminton and football. The decision was one of the most divisive in Swarthmore’s history and many wounds from it have not healed.
