A view of the Billiard Room. Behind where the picture taker is standing, and to the right and to the left, are bedrooms. The left hallway also leads through to the Red Room.
This is also the billiard room. If you went down the stairs in the previous picture, got to the pool table, and turned to your left, this is what you'd see.
This is the dining room. The table can stretch out much farther than that, and there's room for a second table where the picture taker is standing. You see how the chandelier and the fireplace are totally awesome, yes? Oh! and I forgot to mention in the e-mail, the dining room also has a bear rug named Fred and an Arctic Wolf rug named Remus. See a trend?
A view of the house from across Jordan Lake.
Megan, Larry and Kiko canoeing on the Upper Run of Jordan River. This is my favorite picture ever.
A view of the leanto, which overlooks Jordan Lake.
A view of the Red Room. That's George in the foreground. Through the doors is the dining room. Through the one door on the right is the porch, which wraps around the side of the house so that if you went out those far doors in the dining room you would be on the other end of the porch. Does that make sense? The tuna was caught by my grandfather. Below it, on the left, is a trout I caught, the only trout I ever caught that wasn't eaten or rereleased. (by the way: you will notice lots of animals and animal heads and rugs around; nobody hunts anymore.)
The Settlers Table. Also acceptable for doing puzzles or playing games that don't involve hexagons, though I don't know why you'd bother. ;-)
The side of the house. If you went along the path in front of you, you'd come to the porch on your left, and then you'd reach the gazebo and the paths to the swimming area and the leanto. If you turned around on the path and walked behind the picture taker, you'd head towards the ping-pong house and the cottages.
One of many gorgeous Kildare sunsets. This is taken on the porch outside the dining room.
Another sunset. You can see the floating raft of the swimming area on the left.
A third, but not final, sunset. This one shows the pier for the swimming area, and the raft in the background on the right.
The last sunset pic. I took this one standing on the porch outside the dining room this very summer.
The ping-pong house is on the left. Past the main house on the right you can just see part of the Mayer Cottage.
And that's all the really illustrative pictures I have. As I said above, if you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail. And remember to cc me on vacationlist discussions, as I'm not subscribed.
