About me

First of all, let me thank you for visiting my home page. Relax as I take you on a memorable tour.

  • My full name is Stephen Emmanuel Nii Aryee Armah. To most of my friends however, I am known as the "pardus panthera" because my friends claim I have the courage and wits of a leopard. Do not get me wrong, I am not a cocky fellow, on the contrary, I would say I am quite mellow . The problem is I could not fight a name that I had not chosen by choice, it caught on so well and so fast. In fact, soon I begun to go with it my self.

  • I was born on the 14th of June 1977 in Accra,(The capital of Ghana) to Mr and Mrs Matthew Armah. I am the last of a family of four kids I am about 5' 5 and 1/2" tall and dark in complexion (very dark even for a black man. Check out some of my pictures from the picture gallery). I had my pre-school education in Nsawam (a town in the in the eastern part of the country) where my Dad, a pharmacist had been transfered and had my secondary school education in Cape-coast. ( Cape-coast happens to be one of the most important cities to the trans-Antlantic slave traders and still has most of the forts and castles for example, the Cape-coast castle, which contains the horrible dungeons that housed the slaves that were taken to America still standing). I completed my Pre-college Education in Accra, the capital and moved to Swarthmore college in Pennsylvannia in 1997 for college. I hope to graduate from Swarthmore with a BS in Engineering and a BA in Economics hopefully in the year 2001.

  • What are the things that I find intreresting about my self? well you do not meet a guy who can speak about four different languages relatively well and get by on a 5th everyday. I can speak Ga, Twi, Fante (all Ghanian languages with ease). I can also speak English fluently and get by in French without much hassle.

  • Short of sounding vain, I view my self as a very tolerant individual who nonetheless has a very well defined view of right and wrong. I discovered as I was growing up that making mistakes is inherent in the nature of most people and to have the ability to forgive them is a virtue not found in most people. This view I share with My brother Joseph Armah and the proverb "to err is human, to forgive divine" is one that we both love. However, I do not believe that people should not attempt o avoid mistakes. I believe that everyone should be the best they can be and hope that their best is enough.
  • I love to write imaginative stories even though in the last few months of my life, I have rather been doing a lot of anlytical writting. College life nawa! .Check out my advice column :Pardus' Advice column, in the archive section (spring 98) of the Phoenix which is Swats' original mouthpiece.
  • I love football (or soccer as it is called in tne US), in fact I am a a football fanatic, boxing, basketball and tennis. I used to sing as a kid but my soprano lost its melody once I metamorphosed into a man. Ironic eh? Dancing is another thing I love, from hi-life, hip-pop, reggae to marrenge. I also like to listen to music, travel and window shop (I am embarassd to admit this!!!!).
  • I also love to eat and sleep. However, I would not advice you visiting my page to follw suit!
  • There is dignity in working hard!
