Ever seen kids playing at school during break-time? That's what I call
real playtime. It's unbelievable the energy they have! Although my playtime
isn't as exciting as it was when I was a kid, I still enjoy some extra-curricular
stuff.

I've been tutoring with the Chester Tutorials program on campus. Tutors
help kids with homework once a week, after which there's always extra time
to run around. Lately I've joined the Science For Kids program as well.
With this program students create interesting experiments and projects
to whip up children's interest in the sciences.

Like most Ghanaians I love soccer, but when I really want to break out
in a sweat I'll play Tennis for hours! During the fall of 1998, in the
intramurals men's tennis doubles, my partner, Anthony Cheng and I were
unable to advance beyond the semi-finals because of technicalities. That
same semester, the International Club soccer team, I-20 which I play for,
lost to the faculty team during the semi-finals of the intramural soccer
tournament. This was despite all the cheering I did as a self-appointed
cheerleader/player. Hopefully, we'll get to win the tournament before 2001.
By the way, make sure you check out some interesting pictures taken of
tennis celebrities in my Gallery.

For the past year, together with two friends, Stephen Armah and Kwabena
Adu, I deejay a radio show called "Rythm
Is An African Thing" on the campus radio station, WSRN
91.5 fm. It's always party time in the studios, as we go all
out to show the wonderful music that Africa has. Traditional, Hi-life,
Juju, Zouk, Reggae, Rap, Soukous, ... just name it, we play it all!
With WSRN 91.5 fm now broadcasting live on the web, we'll be having even
a greater audience, and who doesn't like attention!

I've also been writing articles which have been published in the Swarthmore
College newspaper, the Phoenix.
My articles have also been published in Mjumbe, the magazine for students
of the African diaspora, and Our Story, another magazine on diversity issues.
If you're interested, you can read some of these articles.

I'm a member of a number of clubs and organizations. These include the
International Club as well as the Swarthmore
African Students' Association (SASA). I'm also a member of the
Swarthmore
Branch of the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE),
American Society of
Mechanical Engineers (ASME) as well as the National
Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). I also enjoy participating
in activities organized by the Black
Cultural Center (BCC) on campus.
With all these activities going on I guess I should never complain
about boredom, right?
