Lighten up!

Poem --

The Star Gazer

There was once
a dream lit night
I stood
under the velvet dancefloor
with its mysteries bright

I ran
Following their footsteps
Surrendering
with my arms aflight

Soft
as moonlight
The Sun's beast blinked
with a seed in his mouth
I turned and breathed
Heart stopping

Reached

Then
Darkness roared a reminder
My heart sank as
Fragments of stardance
cut my face
Bleeding, I wept.

This was when
A star gazer came along
like a shadow in the light

A thinker, he told me
Of flies on the wall
Leaves in the pond
Of tales without a hero
and pain of the unborn

Then
The Wind whispered a reminder
The buried seed in the soil
which knows it not
Whence it grows
Break even rocks

The night sky turns
and the stars tumble
I stood
Under the overcast dawn
with a mystery in my mind

A hope to be unearthed
or a seed in the sky?

The wind blows
as darkness dies
I smiled

and morning breaks.
