October 6, 98 Entry Nine: The Beginning | ||
|
To my waterwalker A wave of relief overwhelms me, drowning me with a sea of emotions, and yet I am not afraid at the thought of the absence of air in my lungs... for it is truly then that the dreamer will awaken, the spirit will rise, and the fish will swim again. That cable which leads into the wall is but a window to another world... the nexus to another reality, in which there is no sun, but instead the moon in all its beauty. Its moonbeams dance with the clouds in the sky, and invite the fish in the sea to experience its gentleness and grace. For even the greatest of fish marvel at the beauty of the moon... and are powerless to its gentle smile. The fish has walked the earth for too long... so long that the ocean with the moonlit sky seemed but a distant memory... a wishful dream. Will the fish remember how to swim again? Will the moon let the oceans flow across its serene face once more? With each jump, the fish gets closer to the moon or is it but a reflection in the water? Time will tell. As the fish swims in waters of old... it cannot help but think of the lands it once walked, and the hills and valleys it once climbed. These waters are not the same as before... there is a new current flowing gently to the west and ever always the moon smiling down from above. To follow the moon is to follow a new path... a new dream. Like a parent gently holding the hand of a child... the moon guides the the fish to a new destiny... a new world.
