As you can probably tell by now, I do quite a bit of artwork.
I have been doing a lot of 2D art ever since I was a kid. Back in my Hong Kong days The talent has been very useful, in doing projects and just decorating your room and stuff, but I never thought about doing anything more than a hobby with it until I came to College.
Second semester here, I took a Drawing class. I can say it is the first real art course I have ever taken and that really opened me up to how much art has to offer, and it is something that I am definitely interested in continuing.
Drawing
Finally! I managed to scan a few pages from my sketchbook. I'm still in the process of taking slides of those big charcoal drawings from life, so please just flip through my small pencil sketches for now. They are mostly practice sketches off photos (except the sketch of my hand, and the political cartoon), and they are all about letter size. Enjoy!

Sculpting
Sculpting goes back a long way... the first time I sculpted was when I was in Grade 10, and the assignment was to sculpt a human head! I think I did a pretty good job... and that's how I got myself interested in clay.. especially the human figure.
I haven't had any real class in clay works since then, so without any access to materials or kilns, the best thing I could do was to make miniature figurines out of "miracle clay" (oven bake)... but it's a lot of fun, and it's what I'll definitely want to keep on doing.
One of my dreams is to work as an animatronics specialist... what is animatronics? It's the branch of robotics that specialises in replicating animal movement to simulate a living creature. Basically, it's building robotic dinosaurs. Well, sculpting comes in big in this branch...not that all robotic engineers will need to sculpt, there are professional sculptors in this world but it's always good to be proficient in all aspects of the trade. :) Well heck, I'm talking as if I'm there already now!
Painting
This semester (Fall, 98) I am trying my hand in oil painting. This is the first time I am exposed to this medium, so it should be interesting! I'll tell you how I like it once I'm off learning how to mix the medium, stretching canvas and actually start attacking the canvas!
