Queen Amidala after she addresses the Senate:
As if to embody the grief and anguish felt by the queen as she reflects upon
the fate of her people from the relative safety of Senator Palpatine's chambers,
the Foreign Residence Gown is a subdued black, befitting the dire situation. The Cyrene silk fabric is long, flowing and
decorated with beaded emblems, some of which are up to 240 years old, having been passed down through the ages from earlier queens' gowns.
The headpiece (not unlike the Throne-Room headpiece), is distinct for the foreknot from which hangs a royal jewel. Black suspensas frame the queen's pensive
face.
In transit to Coruscant:
This gown, striking because of its feather headdress and gemstone and filigree ear coverings,
was worn by Sabe--NOT Queen Amidala--during the queen's escape from Trade-Federation-controlled Naboo. The real queen, dressed as
handmaiden Padme, followed close behind her decoy, offering subtle, veiled words of encouragement--or advice--when possible.
