The Sun couldn't find us down there

Eric, I can't see a thing in these goggles

We see with our eyes, not by echolocation --
With these on I'm blind as a vliss!

	Remember you told me how your Lady goddess
	Stole a sliver of light from the Sun?
	Well, you might think of these as the Lady's own glasses
	They'll steal light from right under his throne

		What you're seeing now is a sliver of a sliver
		And that's not enough even for you
		But when the sun rises, they'll shade your eyes
		And let just the right sliver come through

Let's go for it -- Eric, you're probably crazy
But, Moon bless you, you've darkened my hope
What else have we got in that wonderful pack?
Maybe water and rations and rope?

	Your people are clever -- I know that these goggles
	Are just one among many strange tools
	I was starting to feel a bit hot in the ears
	Having these is incredibly cool

		But much more than this gear it's your friendship that's seen me
		Through a journey so awful and bright
		With you there to shade me I can walk in the day
		And together we can make it 'til night
