Mera Parivar-My FAMILY!

I have quite a unique family. In most families you will see a Father and a Mother and the sibblings. Occasionally, Grandparents or close Uncles. My family! It has all of those!
My Mom , my Dad, My grandma...But that's not it..
My Grandmother's brother and his wife , whom I also call my other Grandparents (or Granduncle and grandaunt).
They have three sons.. Pradip, Jayant and Prashant..all live with us. They are my Uncles..

I have three aunts....my "Atya" the one I am the most close to ....Her name is Jyoti. She is only ten years older than me. She has been my best friend and favorite aunt ever since I was 10 years old. She sows the best clothes than anyone I have ever known. Often when I go back during the summer we sit down and design dresses and pants together. She can sow anything! I bet she could be the world's best fashiondesigner if she wanted to. She has a MA in Marathi language and also is a librarian. She is the best.

My Uncle Jayant, her husband, is a social worker. He is not home that often but when he is it is the best. We make a lot of fun of eachother, tease eachother, but it is always out of love. Sometimes, when he is home he helps my aunt with her work. only sometimes, though! But when he does, he does the best job ever. He is known for that. He just has to do it, you know!

Prashant,I call him "bhau", Jayant's younger brother. He has the best taste in fashion. We are sort of like sibblings. Except the fact that he is my Uncle and he is 10 years older than me. We used to argue a lot , we still do..but I think we get along the best. He taught me how to ride a Scooter. He mixes in my group of friends very easily, too. As you can see he is a very stylish guy. ;)

My uncle Pradip(Bapu), just moved to another town called Indoli...That is my Grandmother, Indumati's birth place. He is a farmer. His wife's name is Priti and he has two kids:Parimal and Chetna. :)

Oh, and My cousin ADITYA,Jyoti and Jayant's son. I love him to pieces. He is 8 years old. Very smart little kid. I was with him till he was about 4 years old and then I came to US. But, still every time I go back home, he clings to me as if I have always been there with him. He is learning to swim in our village Well right now. With his Dad! He tells me about all his adventures with his friends in every letter he writes to me. He is very photogenic too, as you will see in the pictures.....

Hey, you must be wondering, what about my parents and my Grandmother, right? Well, you see, you have to save the best to the last, right?

My parents! Hmm...I feel like this one page is not enough for them. I could make millions I could write a book and it wont be enough.;)

I will start with my Grandmother! Her name is Indumati and I call her "Aji." She is my second MOM! The one who took care of me at all times. She is the one who had the biggest part in raising me. She has been my grandmother,my Mother,my best friend and everything. She loves me too much. I have got many of her attributes. I also look like her a lot.

She is not only my grandma but she is the greatest daughter of India. She was a big freedomfighter for India's independence. She fought side by side with my Grandfather who was the leader of the freedomfighters around the area. She has tought me so many things. She is just the most amazing women I have ever known. She has gone through so much, yet stands by everybodies side like a mountain. Even after the independence she has never failed to care for her people. Her work still continues indefinitely----------. What I am now is a huge part of what she has made me ........and I am proud of it.
