Sample Activities At The Site: This site is designed as an online unit for teachers to use or to draw from in teaching about pinelands. Sub-units at the grade 4-6 level include a general information unit, a soil unit, a water unit, a fire unit, a people unit, a plant unit, and an animal unit. Sub-units at the grade 7-8 level are the same except for the omission of the general information unit. Within each unit is a list of vocabulary needed to understand the unit, as well as a materials list, procedure, evaluation, and connection to the next lesson. All in all a very neat idea designed to work as an interdisciplinary curriculum which meets state standards, in this case, New Jersey's.
