Pynchon...

I enjoy, among other things, the writing of Thomas Pynchon. I'm not going to waste time gushing about an author that changed my life, and all that... But in my ideal world, everybody has already read Pynchon. If you haven't, I've decided to use this space to convince you. I've placed here some of my favorite passages from Gravity's Rainbow. If you enjoy what you read, please consider purchasing one of his books. We can't afford to let one of the great authors (and minds) of the 20th century be swept away by waves of lowest common denominator culture. If you are looking for more links to Pynchon, I'd start at Spermatikos Logos. If you're already a Pynhead, and care to chat about his work, e-mail me, or read some of my thoughts on Pynchon. I've put together a comparative essay on Mason & Dixon and Gravity's Rainbow. It ain't perfect, but hell... It's been two years now, and almost noone has been willing to publish their thoughts on his latest tome. Why not take a first step?
