In and Around the WRC

Women's Resource Center

The WRC offers a physical space for women on campus. The Center is open for use to all students on campus. The center, itself, has a kitchen, television and VCR, Women's library, and a iMac with dial-in access on the 2nd floor. The space can be reserved for meetings, events, and parties. For more information about the WRC or interests in reserving the space contact the WRC Board at: wrc@sccs.swarthmore.edu.

Nature Goddess Mural

The WRC got an added touch this past fall semester as Swarthmore students Jeanne Gardner, Karina Kacala, and Thomas Harding designed and painted the nature goddess mural on the 2nd floor. Thanks all! Check out the photos below, and come to the WRC to see the real thing!

Coffeehouse

10/6/01

The WRC held our first coffeehouse for this year in early October to celebrate the opening of the newly painted mural. The coffeehouse went off great we had good mixture of poetry readers, singer/guitarists, the capella groups of Cantatrix and Oscar & Emily, and even a dulcimer player!

Below are some photos from the night of the Coffeehouse:

(Opening, Katherine Davenport gives the coffeehouse its burst of energy as she sings and performs a couple playful folksongs on her guitar)

(Cantatrix, Swathmore's all-womens classical acapella fills room with medieval and renaissance harmonies)

(the jazz a capella group Oscar and Emily spice things up with their personal rendition of "Lover Man")

(Open-mike poetry readings)
