Reviews of Classes taught by Helene Shapiro of the Mathematics and Statistics Department

Name: Omitted Year: 2003 Major: Engineering Course: MATH 016 - Linear Algebra Taken Spring 2000 Recommends? no

Although linear algebra is an incredibly useful topic to know, especially if you are considering any of the math intensive Natural Sciences (Physics, Engineering, Math), I would not recomend taking it with Prof. Shapiro. Her lecture style is bland, and it is often difficult to follow what she is trying to prove, making the confusing and poorly written book a necessity. Of course it did not help that the only time available spring 2000, for both sections, was 8:30 TR.
