Come join us this afternoon for a short retreat in the Crum. Mark Wallace will lead prayer and we’ll plant some shrubberies. Meet near Danawell at 2:45.
Pizza and Parable this week will be the last regular P&P of the semester. We’ll discuss a passage from Acts.
Next week, 1 May 2008, we’ll be heading in to the Episcopal Cathedral in Philadelphia for Julia’s confirmation. We’ll leave around 6:15, expecting to return around 9:00. Send Joyce an email if you’re interested in attending.
Sunday 4 May will be the last Taize of the semester. Come for chanting, prayer, and dinner.

This evening (2 April 2008) a talk about feminism, modesty, and hook-up culture. LPAC, 7:30pm. Sponsored by FFS, Women’s Studies, and Gender Education.
Due to scheduling concerns, no Taize this Sunday. We’ll let everyone know if/when we reschedule.
Come to Interfaith Dinner this Thursday, 6:00pm in Scheuer. Open to everyone, we’ll be talking about religious life here at Swarthmore. No P&P due to scheduling conflict with interfaith dinner.
SPC will sponsor another retreat near Earth-day. Email Joyce for details.

Taize service tonight at 5:00 in the Common Worship Room. Come for chanting and prayer, and dinner afterwards.
The Christian groups on campus co-host an Easter dinner every year – if you feel like helping to cook/clean, send Joyce (jtompki1) or Yie (ayie1) an email. If you plan to attend, also please send your meal number, though you can certainly attend without submitting a meal number.

Welcome back, all!
This week, February 4-10, is Religion on Campus Week! A schedule of events can be found [here].
Pancakes tonight at Trinity! Come to Shrove Tuesday supper. Sixteen Feet will be singing.
Ash Wednesday services will be held at noon in Bond and at 7:30 at Trinity.
This Saturday, February 10th, visit the Swarthmore Presbyterian Church for dinner and learn about the service efforts of Swat Pres in Nicaragua. Students have gone on service trips in past years and another group of 13 will go this March.
Finally, annual monastery retreat occurs the weekend of the 22nd. Contact Joyce if you want to attend! (More details coming).

This coming Sunday there will be an Evensong at Trinity, starting at 5:30.
Next Monday ~ Christmas party at Joyce’s house. Stop by for chocolate, tea, and company!
No more Pizza and Parable this semester, but ELM will continue to host Communion this week and next week.

SPC and the Swarthmore Presbyterian Church will be co-hosting a service trip to Nicaragua over spring break. There will be a planning meeting (with pizza) on Tuesday, October 30th at 6:00 pm in the Lang Center.
Also, the annual fall Beach Retreat will occur the Saturday after fall break, October 26th-27th. RSVP to Joyce so that she can arrange transportation for everyone who wants to attend. We’ll leave Friday at 5:00pm and return Saturday at 6:00pm. Bring a sleeping bag, pillow, warm beach clothes, and a few dollars for dinner Friday night. There will be singing, prayer, and time on the beach!

Join us for a bit of prayer and song before heading back to class on Monday.
Starting this Sunday, 16 September we’ll be singing hymns for about a half-hour. We’ll start with a brief prayer at 5:00 pm in the Bond Common Worship Room.
Bring friends, musical instruments, and, well, you!
Singing will occur every Sunday that we do not have a Taize service.

Taize services this semester will occur on September 9th, October 7th, November 4th, and December 2nd.
As described here, Taize services consist of simple chanting and short periods of silent reflection. Come join a fun worship service and have dinner with local church members!
