i'm homeless (poem)

i'm homeless

you ask me why i'm homeless
a fact i can't deny
you wonder why i sit relaxed
in thought, and simply sigh

when i was born, my mother
a poor but wise young child decided i'd be
better raised
among the meek and mild

so off i went without her
a bouncing place to place
was ten long years and many homes
before i saw her face

and still she left me out there
disjointed from her life and as i grew i always
knew
i'd always have this strife
